Barrister Olumide Olumayowa Awoyemi, Esq., popularly known as “Authority,” is a distinguished legal practitioner, accountant, and governance advocate with a strong passion for public service and community development. A proud son of Akure, he was raised with strong Christian values and a deep appreciation for education, discipline, integrity, and service to humanity.
His impressive academic and professional journey spans Accounting, Law, Corporate Practice, Arbitration, and International Legal Studies. He holds B.Sc. Accounting, LL.B., B.L., and LL.M. qualifications, including an LL.M. from the University of Illinois College of Law, USA, with concentrations in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, and Trade. His experience as an Internal Auditor and subsequently as a lawyer has equipped him with a rare combination of financial discipline, legal expertise, analytical thinking, and strategic problem-solving.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Olumide has built extensive grassroots political experience across AD, ACN, Labour Party, APC, and now YPP. His political journey has taken him from youth and student mobilization to election petition monitoring, political think-tank leadership, and ultimately his emergence as the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for Akure North and Akure South Federal Constituency in the 2027 National Assembly Elections.

Authority 2027 represents a new generation of purposeful leadership—one driven by competence rather than empty promises. His vision is to promote people-centred legislation, sustainable employment opportunities, affordable living, improved infrastructure, effective representation, and greater access to federal resources for the people of Akure North and Akure South.
