FASORANTI: A LEGACY OF INTEGRITY, COURAGE AND UNWAVERING PRINCIPLES — ENGR. TOMIWA AREGBESOLA PAYS GLOWING TRIBUTE

Describes Late Elder Statesman as a Symbol of Honour, Conviction and Selfless Service to Humanity

Engr. Tomiwa Aregbesola has paid a glowing tribute to the late Pa. Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, describing him as a man of exceptional character, uncommon courage, unwavering principles and an enduring commitment to truth, justice, equity and human dignity.

In his heartfelt tribute to the revered elder statesman, titled “Tribute to an Icon of Integrity, Courage and Unwavering Principles,” Aregbesola reflected on the remarkable life of Baba Fasoranti, noting that his steadfast commitment to his convictions distinguished him as a respected statesman whose values remained firm despite changing political circumstances and societal challenges.

According to him, Baba Fasoranti understood that true greatness was not measured by wealth, position or influence, but by strength of character, consistency of convictions and meaningful service to humanity. His unwavering dedication to the advancement of the Yoruba people, the development of Ondo State and the progress of Nigeria, he noted, established him as a courageous statesman and a powerful voice of conscience.

Aregbesola further observed that, in a world where principles are sometimes sacrificed for convenience, the late elder statesman remained resolute in his beliefs. He demonstrated through his life that integrity is most evident when tested, while truth, justice and a good name are far more valuable than temporary personal gains.

Beyond his public engagements, the tribute noted that Baba Fasoranti cherished family values, unity and loyalty. His devotion to the Gbeleaje family and his concern for the welfare of his people reflected a personality whose greatness was rooted not only in his principles but also in his humility, compassion and genuine regard for others.

Highlighting the enduring significance of the late statesman’s life, Aregbesola drew inspiration from Proverbs 22:1, which declares: “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.” He noted that the biblical injunction aptly captured the values Baba Fasoranti embodied throughout his remarkable journey on earth.

He stressed that the greatest honour that could be accorded the departed icon was to uphold the principles he represented. According to him, Baba Fasoranti’s courage should inspire future generations, his integrity should challenge the conscience of leaders and citizens alike, while his commitment to justice and unity should strengthen collective efforts towards building a better Ondo State and a greater Nigeria.

Aregbesola maintained that although the revered elder statesman had departed this earthly life, his legacy of honour, patriotism, resilience and selfless service would continue to endure. He described Baba Fasoranti’s life as a timeless lesson in standing firmly for what is right and leaving behind values capable of guiding and inspiring generations yet unborn.

He also prayed that Almighty God would comfort the Fasoranti family, the Afenifere family, the people of Ondo State, the Yoruba nation, Nigeria and all those mourning the passage of the revered statesman. He further prayed for divine strength for the bereaved and for the preservation of the unity and cherished values that Baba Fasoranti upheld throughout his lifetime.

Concluding his emotional tribute, Aregbesola declared that Baba Fasoranti lived with honour, stood with courage, served with conviction and remained faithful to his principles until the end. He noted that although the voice of the revered elder statesman might have fallen silent, his values would continue to speak and his legacy would remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.

“Adieu, Baba Fasoranti. You lived a life of honour, stood firmly for your convictions and left behind a legacy that time cannot erase. May your soul rest in perfect peace.”
