ANCOPSS Hails Aiyedatiwa’s Transformative Impact on Ondo Education in One Year

The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ondo State Branch, has offered glowing commendation to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for what it described as a remarkable year of purposeful and transformative leadership that has significantly strengthened the education sector across the state.

In a statement released on behalf of principals of public secondary schools in Ondo State, the association noted that the governor’s first year in office has been marked by visionary governance, strategic reforms, and deliberate investments aimed at restoring education to its rightful place as the foundation for sustainable development. According to ANCOPSS, the administration’s policies have inspired renewed confidence among educators, students, and other stakeholders within the education system.

One of the most applauded initiatives of the administration is the payment of examination fees for students sitting for the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in public secondary schools across the state. The principals described the intervention as historic, noting that it has reduced the financial burden on parents while ensuring that no eligible student is denied the opportunity to participate in external examinations due to economic constraints.

The association also praised the government for the comprehensive digitalisation of education in the state. According to the principals, the integration of technology into teaching, learning, school administration, and data management represents a bold step toward modernising the education system and aligning it with global standards. They emphasized that the digital initiative has improved efficiency, transparency, and overall effectiveness in schools.

ANCOPSS further highlighted the consistent and prompt payment of teachers’ salaries under the current administration, a development it said has greatly improved morale and restored dignity to the teaching profession. The strict adherence to the seniority list in appointments and promotions was also described as a commendable move that promotes fairness, transparency, and merit in career advancement among education professionals.

The association noted with satisfaction that qualified officers have been duly appointed as Vice-Principals and Principals in line with established guidelines, strengthening school leadership and ensuring continuity in academic administration. In addition, the regular promotion of teachers as and when due, alongside bursaries, scholarships, and financial assistance provided to Ondo State students in tertiary institutions, has further expanded educational opportunities for the state’s youth.

ANCOPSS also acknowledged the government’s ongoing infrastructural renewal across schools, as well as renewed attention to technical and vocational education. These efforts, according to the association, are creating safer, more supportive, and conducive learning environments that will nurture innovation and practical skills among students.

Concluding its commendation, the ANCOPSS Ondo State Branch affirmed that within just one year, Governor Aiyedatiwa has laid a strong and enduring foundation for educational excellence, accessibility, and human capital development in Ondo State. The association described the achievements as clear evidence of disciplined, compassionate, transparent, and transformative leadership dedicated to the long-term progress of the state.
