Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School Entrenches Culture of Hard Work — Dr. Ojoge
The Principal of Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, Akure, Ambassador (Dr.) Omobola Ojoge, has disclosed that the school has successfully entrenched a culture of hard work, discipline and academic excellence as part of its core values, stressing that the development has continued to produce outstanding results among the students.
Dr. Ojoge made this known in an exclusive chat with The Democrat News Magazine in her office on Monday, September 14, 2026, while speaking on the school’s academic achievements, sporting activities and other developments under her leadership.
According to her, when she assumed office as Principal of the school, she discovered that the average student of Fiwasaye was naturally brilliant and academically gifted, but that some of them needed to develop a stronger attitude towards hard work and commitment to their studies.
She explained that she therefore decided to raise the standard of hard work and discipline among the students, making it clear that there would be no room for examination malpractice, no matter how little. She noted that the students have since embraced hard work, discipline and determination, which have translated into excellent performances in both internal and external examinations.
Dr. Ojoge expressed delight at the positive transformation in the academic culture of the school, noting that the achievements recorded by the students were products of consistent hard work, dedication by teachers and the determination of the students to succeed through legitimate means.
Speaking on sporting activities, the Fiwasaye Principal said the multi-purpose sports pavilion commissioned last year has significantly enhanced the school’s sporting profile and brought greater recognition to Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School beyond the shores of the state.
She described the sports pavilion as a worthwhile legacy project, stressing that it is not only serving the students but is also being utilised by different categories of people for the promotion and development of sports across Ondo State.
The Principal also thanked God for the quality leadership in Ondo State and appreciated the Ministry of Education for its various initiatives aimed at improving the education sector. She specifically noted the introduction of the electronic system in schools, describing it as a laudable step designed to modernise and further develop the educational system.
Dr. Ojoge added that the electronic system was gradually being embraced and acclimatised to by schools, expressing optimism that its effective implementation would ultimately benefit students, teachers, parents and other stakeholders in the education sector.
