As Hon. Jibayo Adeyeye, Esq., PhD marks his birthday, it is fitting to look beyond the usual birthday greetings and reflect on the life, achievements and contributions of a man who has steadily carved a distinctive place for himself in the social and economic development story of Ondo City and Ondo State.
On behalf of the Ondo State Education Preservation Coalition (OSEPC), I celebrate a distinguished son of Ondo City whose journey reflects a blend of leadership, scholarship, enterprise, philanthropy and community development.
From Public Leadership to Enterprise
Hon. Jibayo Adeyeye, Esq., PhD has travelled a remarkable path. As a former Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, he acquired valuable experience in public leadership, legislation and governance.
But his story did not end with political office.
Over the years, he has developed into a prominent entrepreneur, farmer, industrialist, philanthropist and employer of labour. His business interests and investments have created opportunities for people to earn a living and support their families, particularly in Ondo City and across Ondo State.
This is an important dimension of development that is sometimes overlooked. While government has an important role to play in providing employment and economic opportunities, individuals who invest, establish businesses and employ people are also making significant contributions to the development of society. In this regard, Adeyeye’s entrepreneurial journey deserves recognition.
The Virtue of Scholarship
His achievement as a PhD holder adds another significant dimension to his personality. A doctorate is not merely a title to be displayed after one’s name. Therefore, as Hon. Jibayo Adeyeye, Esq., PhD, celebrates another year, the occasion provides an opportunity not merely to wish him a happy birthday, but to acknowledge the footprints he is leaving behind. We celebrate the people who have found employment through his enterprises. We celebrate the young people who have received encouragement and opportunities. We celebrate investments such as NIBANOLA, which have added a new dimension to the recreational and economic landscape of Ondo City. We celebrate the businesses he has built, the people he has supported and the community initiatives to which he has contributed.
Most importantly, we celebrate the continuing journey of a man who has demonstrated that personal success becomes more meaningful when it creates opportunities and value for others.
