NOA Ese-Odo Champions Grassroots Awareness on National Policies and Civic Values
In a vibrant show of community engagement and patriotic enlightenment, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) of Ese-Odo Local Government Area has taken a bold step in bringing government policies closer to the people. As part of its ongoing nationwide sensitization campaign, the agency launched an intensive public awareness drive in Ojuala Community. This grassroots initiative is aimed at fostering a better understanding of key national issues among citizens, ensuring that the voices and responsibilities of the people remain integral to Nigeria’s democratic development.
Held at the esteemed palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Charles Adeboye Olajide, the event drew a large gathering of community leaders, market women, youths, and concerned residents. The NOA team led by Como of Ese-Odo , Odunayo Arogun, passionately educated the attendees on five thematic areas of critical national importance: national values and civic responsibility, community security, flood awareness and preparedness, discouraging extreme “sign-out” practices among students, and the National Identity Project. Each topic was addressed with cultural sensitivity and a call for collective action.
The sensitization campaign did not end at the palace. The NOA delegation extended their outreach to the bustling Ojuala Market, where traders and passersby were enlightened on five vital government policies and programs. These include initiatives related to agriculture, education, health care, youth empowerment, and environmental management. The goal, according to the NOA, is to demystify government programs and ensure that even the most remote citizens are aware of opportunities and responsibilities enshrined in national development efforts.
Residents of Ojuala embraced the campaign with enthusiasm, praising the agency’s approach in using both traditional and communal platforms to deliver these messages. The presence of the monarch and local leaders added weight to the occasion, reinforcing the importance of unity in addressing societal challenges. Several youths voiced their appreciation for the education on responsible celebration practices during student graduations, noting its timeliness amidst rising concerns over dangerous “sign-out” rituals.
The NOA’s engagement in Ojuala stands as a testament to the power of community-driven awareness. By meeting the people where they are, in markets and royal courts, the agency is not only bridging the gap between policy and practice but also reigniting a sense of shared ownership in national progress.
