Road Maintenance, Rehabilitation Begins across Ondo State
The Ondo State Ministry of Works has commenced an extensive road maintenance and rehabilitation programme across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state. The intervention, which began on August 13 during the short rainy break, is being executed through the Ministry’s Direct Labour Unit.
According to the Ministry, the exercise focuses on critical sections of roads requiring immediate attention to restore traffic flow and enhance pavement durability. Works include asphalt patching, grading of failed portions, desilting of drains, and stone base stabilization to strengthen affected carriageways.
The initiative underscores the state government’s proactive commitment to infrastructure sustainability, ensuring that road users experience safer and smoother mobility. By deploying direct labour, the Ministry is reducing cost while guaranteeing quality control and timely delivery across the various project sites.
