Golden Jubilee with a Golden Heart: Pastor (Mrs.) Rachael Oladunni Korede-Owa Celebrates 50th Birthday in Style, Gives Back to Alma Mater
It was a moment of joy, reflection and heartfelt nostalgia as Pastor Dr. (Mrs.) Rachael Oladunni Korede-Owa celebrated her golden jubilee in a remarkable way—by giving back to her cherished alma mater, Baptist High School, Odoko, Idanre, 31 years after graduation.
On Tuesday, 13th May 2025, Pastor (Mrs.) Korede-Owa, accompanied by her entourage, returned to the school that shaped her early years. Her visit was marked by generous acts of benevolence and inspiration. She donated educational materials, including textbooks for the school library, customized exercise books and a cash gift. She also awarded a scholarship to the best-performing female student in Junior Secondary School 3, among other thoughtful gestures.

The School Principal, Mrs. A. B. Adeyosoye, expressed profound gratitude, noting that the visit was more than a donation—it was a source of great encouragement. “Coming back to this school isn’t just about giving, it’s about inspiring the next generation,” she said. In recognition of the celebrant’s impact, the school choir rendered the school anthem in her honor.
A representative of the Regional Women Coordinator, Mrs. Olowomeye, Pastor Solomon, also addressed the students on the dangers of drug and sexual abuse, emphasizing their long-term consequences to both individuals and society.
In her touching remarks, Dr. (Mrs.) Korede-Owa said, “We are here to inspire and invest in your future. It’s been 31 years since I last stepped into this school. Returning today brings deep emotion and a sense of responsibility to give back.”

During a career talk, the Women Coordinator in Redemption Court, Dr. (Mrs.) Ayodele urged the students to choose career paths that align with their passions and values. “Pursue what interests you. Focus on your strengths and always seek wise counsel,” she advised.
The purpose of the celebration was not only to give but also to transform lives. Over 50 students committed their lives to Christ during the event, a testament to its spiritual impact. The day concluded with fervent prayers led by Pastor Babatunde Owa, showering the students with divine blessings.
To crown the occasion, gifts were presented to the celebrant by the principal of the Baptist High School and her former classmates and members of Old Students Association came to honour and rejoice with her.
