Scholar Announces Official Change of Name, Seeks Public Recognition
A renowned academic, Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD, has formally announced a change in her official name from Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Jogbodo, PhD to Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD.
According to the statement made available to the public, the change became necessary following her decision to adopt the official surname of her nuclear family. She explained that while “Jogbodo” remains the extended family name of her husband, “Niran-Jogbodo” is the recognized compound surname formed from her husband’s personal and family names.
The academic scholar further noted that all her children have borne the surname Niran-Jogbodo from birth, making her decision a deliberate step towards aligning fully with the identity and name officially used by her immediate family.
Mrs. Niran-Jogbodo also clarified that all necessary legal and court procedures regarding the change of name have been duly completed, thereby making the new name valid for all official and legal purposes.
She therefore urged colleagues, associates, institutions, and the general public to henceforth recognize and address her as Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD in all correspondences, records, documents, and transactions.
The statement emphasized that all documents previously bearing the name Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Jogbodo, PhD remain valid and should be regarded as belonging to the same person now officially known as Mrs. Fadekemi Bosede Niran-Jogbodo, PhD.
She appealed to all concerned authorities and professional bodies to take note of the development and accord the necessary recognition to her new official name.
