ORIKADUN FESTIVAL – “KAJOLA EYIN ALA DAY ’25” CELEBRATED IN STYLE
Oba Ogunlade Alaba Owoyemi, the Olu of Kajola Ẹyin Ala, Igbatoro, in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, has appealed to the Ondo State Government under the leadership of Governor Hon. Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the Chairman of Akure North Local Government to remember their community.
The Oba explained that politicians and government representatives only remember the community when it is time for elections. They come with fake promises just to seek votes. According to him, the community gives massive votes during elections, but once the elections are over, these politicians abandon the community without fulfilling their promises.
The Olu of Kajola Ẹyin Ala stated that the community roads are in terrible condition and there is no good drinking water.
He also lamented that the only school in the community has become a “death trap.”
He appreciated a native of the community living overseas who funded the repair of the community’s solar-powered streetlights.
He further stated that despite several discussions with the Akure North Local Government Chairman and government representatives, nothing meaningful has been done to improve Kajola Ẹyin Ala.
Oba Ogunlade Alaba Owoyemi also praised the Hunter Security Group in the community and its environs for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and security.
The Oba made these statements during the community’s annual celebration tagged “KAJOLA EYIN ALA DAY 2025,” which was held for the first time in the community.
The event attracted many important guests.
Residents and indigenes described Oba Ogunlade Alaba Owoyemi as a unifying leader—someone who is approachable, hospitable, and a friend to both natives and visitors.
Kajola Ẹyin Ala is home to many ethnic groups including Ebira, Igede, Igbo, and Hausa communities.
The major occupation in Kajola Ẹyin Ala, Igbatoro, is farming. They cultivate crops such as cashew, cocoa, plantain, yam, pepper, and others.
From Akure, the Ondo State capital, visitors can get to Kajola Ẹyin Ala through Imafon/Ilado Road or via Abo community.
A popular musician known as Oloju Ede thrilled the crowd with melodious music during the maiden edition of KAJOLA EYIN ALA DAY 2025.
