NOA Officer Embarks on Sensitization Tour to Oba Ile and Iju Communities on Key National Issues

In a continued effort to deepen civic awareness and promote national unity, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Officer in charge of Akure North Local Government Area, Mr. Johnson Ajayi, embarked on a sensitization visit to key institutions in Oba Ile and Iju communities.

His mission was to enlighten stakeholders on the Federal Government’s five thematic focus areas: Government Policies, National Values, Security Awareness, Disaster Preparedness, and National Identity.

At the Palace Oloba Oodaye of Oba Ile, Mr. Ajayi was warmly received by the traditional leadership of the community, where he engaged them in meaningful discussions on the relevance of national values and grassroots involvement in governance.

Among those present were the Regent, Princess Adefoluke Veronica Agunbiade Adu; the Chief Odoptu of Oba Ile, High Chief Thomas Amubiaya; Chief Elemo; and Chief Ofofin. The meeting highlighted the critical role traditional institutions play in promoting peace, security, and national consciousness among their people.

The sensitization tour also extended to the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Iju, where Mr. Ajayi addressed both religious and community leaders on the same thematic areas. In attendance were Revd. Canon E. O. Adesuyan, Hon. E. A. Idowu, Chief Bunmi Alade, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ondo State Pension Transition Department.

Mr. Ajayi emphasized the influence of religious institutions in fostering unity, moral values, and a sense of national identity, urging them to be active partners in the drive toward a more secure and value-driven society.

Through these engagements, the NOA continues to strengthen community involvement and support for national initiatives, while reinforcing the message that every stakeholder—traditional, religious, and civic—has a vital role to play in the collective progress of the nation.
