Faith Meets Vigilance: Ondo West NOA Takes Security Awareness Campaign To Church

In a spirited blend of faith and civic responsibility, the Scripture Group Mission Cathedral of Miracles, nestled behind the Auditorium Baptist Church along Ademulegun Road in Ondo West Local Government Area, played host to a vital Security Awareness Campaign on Sunday, September 7th.

The sensitization program, spearheaded by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), was part of an ongoing nationwide initiative to engage grassroots communities in the collective fight against insecurity. Leading the charge was the NOA Officer for Ondo West LGA, Mr. Akanji Shamsudeen, who addressed the congregation with passionate urgency on the need for proactive community participation in safeguarding lives and property.

Mr. Shamsudeen emphasized that ensuring peace and security is a shared responsibility. He urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cultivate a culture of cooperation with security agencies. According to him, churches and faith-based organizations are pivotal allies in spreading the message of safety and national unity.

The host pastor, Pastor Omotosho, of Scripture Group Mission Cathedral of Miracles, warmly welcomed the initiative, expressing heartfelt appreciation to the Federal Government and the NOA for bringing such a timely message to the doorstep of the people. He urged his congregation to take the message seriously, highlighting that “spiritual vigilance must be accompanied by physical alertness in today’s world.”

In a show of support, Mrs. Taye Dawola, a respected elder in the church, commended the NOA for its grassroots engagement. She pledged to help amplify the message, promising to “spread the good news of security consciousness” within and beyond the church community.

The event concluded with prayers for peace and stability in Ondo Town and Nigeria at large, leaving participants not only spiritually uplifted but better informed on their role in building a safer society.
