United Artisan Group Throws Weight Behind Tinubu’s 2027 Re-Election Bid, Pledges Over 700,000 Votes Through AMG
…Receives Brand-New Siena Bus to Strengthen Grassroots Mobilisation
The United Artisan Group has declared its support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, pledging to mobilise more than 700,000 votes for the President through the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) in Ondo State.
The declaration, which took place in Akure, attracted leaders and members of various artisan associations, including the Association of Tailors, Nigeria Association of Tailors and other allied bodies, hairdressers, barbers and other professionals within the informal sector. The development represents another mobilisation effort by AMG as it continues to engage different groups and communities across Ondo State ahead of the 2027 elections. AMG has previously announced ambitious statewide vote-mobilisation targets for President Tinubu.
The leadership of the United Artisan Group, under the coordination of Pastor Olaniyi Ale, mobilised the artisans to the gathering, where speakers highlighted issues affecting artisans and expressed their position on the 2027 political contest.
Speaking at the occasion, Pastor Ale reaffirmed the commitment of the group to mobilising its members and associates in support of President Tinubu, stressing that artisans would continue to participate actively in issues concerning governance, economic opportunities and national development.
The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Olugbenga Ale, a former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, described the artisans as an important constituency in the political landscape of Ondo State. He expressed confidence in their organisational capacity and urged them to sustain their engagement as the 2027 elections approach.
Receiving the group on behalf of AMG, the Director-General of the organisation in Ondo State, Asiwaju Muyiwa Asagunla, expressed appreciation to the artisans for identifying with the movement and for recognising what he described as the opportunities created through the platform associated with Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
Asagunla said the growing support from different professional and community groups would strengthen AMG’s grassroots mobilisation structure, adding that the organisation’s previously announced one-million-vote project for President Tinubu could receive further impetus from the latest development. AMG has been publicly campaigning and mobilising across Ondo State ahead of 2027.
Also speaking, the Secretary of the United Artisan Group, Mr. Sobande, commended the Tinubu administration for what he described as opportunities and interventions available to artisans. He said the group was particularly interested in programmes relating to training, empowerment and the development of the informal sector, promising continued support for initiatives it believes would benefit artisans.
A former NLC Chairman in Ondo State, Comrade Bosede Daramola, observed that the gathering was significant because of the number of artisans openly expressing their political support for the President. She said the group was encouraged by what it described as government attention to artisans and called for sustained engagement with the sector.
Engr. Daisi said the support for Tinubu was also influenced by the confidence many artisans had developed in the leadership and grassroots platform associated with Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo. He noted that artisans had, in the past, experienced situations where politicians sought their support during elections but failed to sustain relationships with them afterwards.
One of the major highlights of the event was the presentation of a brand-new Siena bus to the group to facilitate and strengthen the activities and grassroots mobilisation of AMG in Ondo State. The vehicle is expected to assist the organisation in reaching more communities and coordinating its activities across the state.
The State Public Relations Officer of the group, Comrade Ale Sunday Omojowo, also reaffirmed the organisation’s readiness to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid, saying members would intensify their mobilisation and engagement with artisans and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The latest declaration adds to a series of endorsements and mobilisation activities involving different groups in Ondo State. In September 2026, labour leaders in the state also publicly endorsed President Tinubu for re-election at an AMG-organised event, according to reports.
The United Artisan Group’s declaration therefore signals another effort to consolidate the artisan constituency within the broader grassroots mobilisation structure of AMG, with the group expressing its determination to translate its support into electoral mobilisation when the 2027 election season arrives.
