The Chairman of Akure East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Oda, Hon. Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson, LLM, has passionately called on citizens of Ondo State and Nigerians at large to embrace the call of Mr. Governor on the need to unite against terrorism, while showering glowing encomiums on the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Speaking after closely monitoring an in-depth political engagement aired on Channels Television and anchored by renowned broadcaster Seun Okinbaloye, Barr. Samson described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a visionary and stellar leader whose insightful discourse on the horrific terrorist attack that occurred in Owo Local Government on June 5, 2022, reflected exceptional leadership, courage, and deep understanding of security challenges confronting society.

According to the Akure East LCDA Chairman, he was profoundly touched by the Governor’s eloquence, articulate presentation, and brilliant analysis of the unfortunate incident, particularly the manner in which Governor Aiyedatiwa carefully explained the circumstances surrounding the dastardly attack and the immediate response mechanisms initiated by the administration of his predecessor, demonstrating continuity in governance and commitment to peace.

Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson further commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his clear and passionate message that terrorism must never be politicized, stressing that insecurity remains a collective burden requiring collective responsibility. He applauded the Governor’s clarion call urging citizens to remain vigilant, alert, and united in confronting criminality, irrespective of political, ethnic, or religious differences.

The council boss equally praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for prioritizing grassroots security architecture through strategic monitoring and coordination from the ward level to LCDAs, local governments, and the state apparatus. He noted that the appointment of Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and LCDA committee members has strengthened community engagement and intelligence gathering, thereby enhancing security consciousness among residents.

In the same vein, Barr. Samson applauded the Governor for significantly improving the welfare package of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, noting that better welfare for security operatives naturally translates into greater motivation, effectiveness, and commitment to duty. He described the Governor’s multifaceted support for Amotekun as a demonstration of practical leadership in addressing insecurity.

While appreciating all relevant stakeholders, including the President, security agencies, traditional rulers, and community leaders for their collaborative roles in maintaining peace, Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson reaffirmed his confidence in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and urged residents of Ondo State to embrace unity, vigilance, and cooperation in the collective fight against terrorism, insisting that peace and security remain the bedrock of sustainable development.
