Olojoda of Oda Promises Befitting Secretariat for Akure East LCDA, Pledges Commitment to Community Development

The newly installed Olojoda of Oda Kingdom, Oba Olugbenga Adewole, has reaffirmed his commitment to the growth and development of Oda Community with a promise to facilitate a befitting secretariat accommodation for the Akure East Local Council Development Area (LCDA). The royal father made this known during a courtesy visit paid to him by the Chairman and management team of Akure East LCDA at his palace in Oda, Ondo State.

Speaking during the visit, the monarch warmly appreciated the leadership and management of the LCDA for the honour accorded him through the courtesy call. Oba Adewole expressed gratitude for the numerous developmental efforts and contributions of the council toward the progress of Oda Community. He particularly acknowledged the immense roles played by Justice Adegbemiro in the advancement and stability of the community, describing his contributions as remarkable and worthy of commendation.

The revered monarch assured the council leadership of his readiness to work harmoniously with the LCDA administration in order to foster peace, unity, and accelerated development across Oda Kingdom. In a major boost to the council, the royal father promised to provide a befitting accommodation that would serve as a permanent and conducive secretariat for the Akure East LCDA. He also disclosed that he had directed the current owner of the property being occupied by the council to allow the LCDA continue using the facility until October 2026 pending further arrangements.

Oba Adewole further appealed to the government to ensure the completion of the remaining few kilometres of road project in Oda as earlier promised by the Ondo State Government. According to him, the completion of the road would further open up the community for economic growth and improve the living standards of residents. The monarch also expressed regret over the inability to fully involve the LCDA during the official presentation of his staff of office, explaining that the omission was due to late communication and circumstances beyond control.

The monarch did not fail to appreciate the Regent and the people of Oda Community for their unwavering support to the LCDA and their commitment during the gubernatorial election period. He commended the spirit of unity and cooperation among community stakeholders, noting that such support has continued to strengthen grassroots governance and development within the area.

In his remarks, the Chairman of Akure East LCDA, Taiwo Samson Kayode, appreciated several indigenes and stakeholders of Oda Community for their donations and support at the inception of the LCDA. He noted that the contributions from community members and the Oda Development Council had significantly helped in making the temporary office environment more conducive and operational for administrative activities.

Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson LLM also thanked the Executive Governor of Ondo State for approving the appointment of Oba Olugbenga Adewole as the Olojoda of Oda Kingdom, describing the monarch as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and progressive leadership. He equally appreciated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Aminu Tanko, for his support and contributions toward the success of the LCDA and the enthronement process.

The Chairman further commended the Oda Community Council and the entire people of Oda for standing firmly behind the LCDA since its establishment. He expressed optimism that the reign of Oba Olugbenga Adewole would usher in a new era of unity, infrastructure development, and administrative growth for Oda Kingdom and Akure East LCDA as a whole.
