OSAEC: Evolving into a Premier Agribusiness Hub Under the Leadership of Hon. Wemimo Akinsola
By Comr. Emiloju Smart
Innovative and balanced leadership, coupled with modern Western methodologies, is crucial for fostering progress within the agribusiness sector.
The agribusiness landscape in Ondo State is currently experiencing notable growth, largely attributable to the initiatives undertaken by Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, the Chairman of the Ondo State Agribusiness Empowerment Centre (OSAEC). His commitment to agricultural advancement plays a central role in this transformation.
This initiative aligns with the “ease agenda” articulated by His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, which is rapidly manifesting through OSAEC’s development. The agency is becoming an essential agribusiness hub, integrating Western principles aimed at shifting Ondo State from a consumption-based economy to a production-oriented one.
This initiative represents a strategic intervention led by the Chairman and is an integral component of the broader éyín-írorún Initiative, which is advocated by Hon. Akinsola in his capacity as the Senior Special Assistant on Agribusiness to the Governor of Ondo State. The program aligns with the agricultural transformation agenda of the Ondo State Government, focusing primarily on enhancing food security, broadening agribusiness opportunities, and facilitating residents’ access to high-quality farm produce.
The application of Western methodologies by Hon. Wemimo Akinsola has significantly transformed OSAEC, utilising comprehensive knowledge to inform effective decisions that enhance productivity within Ondo State’s agribusiness sector.
The establishment of Éyín-Írórún illustrates the efficacy of the ease agenda introduced by the Governor, offering residents convenient access to agricultural products at competitive prices.
Hon. Wemimo, in his dual role as Chairman of the agency and as the Chairman of Food Security for Ondo State, embodies the principles of sustainable development and possesses the exceptional expertise necessary to reshape the agribusiness environment in Ondo State into a vibrant hub.
As the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor and a direct reporter to the office of His Excellency, he remains dedicated to ensuring that agribusiness in Ondo State serves as a focal point where innovative ideas can be translated into tangible results.
The availability of Éyín-Írórún at the agency headquarters, alongside transportation initiatives to the ministry and various stakeholders, exemplifies the agency’s commitment to the food ease agenda in Ondo State.
OSAEC is actively driving agribusiness growth and enhancing food accessibility throughout Ondo State.
