Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Alumni Laud Ondo State Government for Approving Historic Combined Convocation
Akure, Ondo State | October 21, 2025 — The National Executive Council of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Alumni Association, led by Engr. Chief Adesina Adeola, has expressed profound appreciation to the Ondo State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for granting approval for the long-awaited 12th–23rd Combined Convocation Ceremonies of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo.
In a heartfelt statement released by the Association, the approval was described as a landmark decision—one that has restored pride to thousands of graduates across the globe and rekindled hope in the hearts of current students and stakeholders. The Alumni noted that this long-anticipated event goes beyond the ceremonial; it is a bold reaffirmation of the State Government’s commitment to education, youth empowerment, and the preservation of institutional legacy. In celebration of this historic milestone, the Alumni Association announced it will be commissioning its National Secretariat (a legacy project), performing the groundbreaking ceremony for the Alumni Lock-Up Shops, and ratifying the Association’s Constitution—all during the convocation week. These initiatives, the Association emphasized, are designed to deepen the bonds of unity, promote institutional growth, and cement a tradition of service among graduates of the polytechnic.

Speaking on behalf of the Alumni body, the National Public Relations Officer, Engr.
