Agric Commissioner Congratulates Governor Aiyedatiwa, D.Gov Ayelami on Supreme Court Victory

The Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Forestry in Ondo State, Engr. Leye Akinola, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and his deputy, Dr Olayide Ayelami, on the final judicial affirmation of their mandate in the October 20, 2024 Governorship election, following the withdrawal of the appeal at the Supreme Court by the appellant.
Engr. Akinola, who described the Supreme Court’s verdict as a victory for democracy, the rule of law, and the will of the people, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and calm throughout the legal battle, stating that the administration has remained focused on delivering good governance and development, even in the face of distractions.
According to him, the Supreme Court’s verdict which followed earlier victories at the Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal has put to rest all post-election legal battles, reaffirming the mandate freely given by the good people of Ondo State to the Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his deputy, Dr Ayelami.
Engr Akinola said: “The people of Ondo State spoke clearly at the ballot, and the courts have now spoken in agreement. This is a clear confirmation of the people’s trust in this administration. It’s a well-deserved victory for Governor Aiyedatiwa. His leadership and vision for Ondo State have been vindicated, and this judgment will undoubtedly boost his efforts to drive development and progress in the state.
“I also commend His Excellency, Governor Aiyedatiwa, for his courage, humility, and unwavering commitment to service delivery throughout the period of the legal battle.”
While calling on all political gladiators and residents of the state, especially the opposition parties, regardless of political affiliations to support and join hands with the governor in building a more prosperous Ondo State, Agric Commissioner said, “The time has come for unity, cooperation and renewed dedication to the task of governance across all sectors.”
