Akure South NOA advocates Government Policies at the Grassroots.
As part of its ongoing nationwide enlightenment campaign, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Akure South Local Government Area, has taken its Nationwide sensitization efforts to the grassroots by engaging residents of Aaye Community, Oda Road, in a public awareness drive centered on five thematic areas.
The campaign aims to educate citizens on key national issues including Government Programmes, National Values, Security Awareness, Flood Safety Alerts, and Unethical Sign-Out Practices in schools.
The sensitization event drew the attention of several community leaders and stakeholders. Dignitaries in attendance included His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akinola Sunday, the Olu of Aaye Community; High Chief Adetoro Adelusi, the Olisa of Aaye; and Chief Sunday Apoti, the Aro of Aaye. Also present were executive members of the community, landlords, landladies, and other concerned residents, all eager to participate in the discussion and gain deeper insight into the thematic focus areas.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Director in charge of Local Government Affairs, Mrs. Adekunle Olufunke Moradeyo, addressed the audience in detail. She emphasized the importance of citizens staying informed about government initiatives and highlighted the roles they must play in strengthening national unity and ensuring community safety. She also addressed the dangers of unethical sign-out practices in schools and the need for proactive measures in flood-prone areas.
In his remarks, the Olu of Aaye expressed appreciation to the NOA team for bringing the campaign to the community. He acknowledged the relevance of the topics discussed and reaffirmed the community’s commitment to promoting national values and security awareness. Other stakeholders present also shared their expectations and concerns, calling on the government to further support grassroots development and sustain such awareness programs.
The visit concluded with a strong sense of communal resolve to implement the lessons learned. Residents pledged to be more security-conscious, uphold ethical standards, and participate actively in national development. The Akure South NOA team reiterated its commitment to continuous engagement with local communities in order to foster an informed, responsible, and patriotic citizenry.
