A Former Special Adviser, Federal Road Maintenance Agency of Nigeria, Dr Sannmi Adebo says World Iyan Carnival is more than just a cultural celebration, but event that will contribute significantly to the economic growth of Ekiti State and Nigeria as a whole.

Dr Adebo who stated this in Ado Ekiti while discussing with newsmen on the impact of the carnival on the local and national economy.

According to Dr. Adebo, the World Iyan Carnival has the potential to attract tourists, investors, and entrepreneurs from around the globe, thereby generating revenue for the state and country.

“By celebrating the World Iyan Carnival, Ekiti State and Nigeria can harness the economic benefits of cultural tourism, promote local industries, and showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity to the world”

Dr Adebo who is One term Ekiti State House of Assembly contestant. From iloro Ekiti explained that the event would showcase Ekiti’s rich cultural heritage, particularly its iconic “iyan” (pounded yam), to the world, promoting cultural exchange and economic opportunities.

He noted that the carnival’s success would also lead to increased economic activities, job creation and infrastructure development in Ekiti State and pledged to support the annual event coming up in Ekiti State before the end of this year

He added the event also position Nigeria as a viable destination for foreign investment, contributing to the country’s economic growth and development.
