ASUSS Chairman, Amuda Tairu, Salutes Ondo Teachers, Nigerians on New Month, Independence Day
Comrade (Hon.) Amuda Tairu Abiola JP, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Ondo State, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt goodwill to teachers across the state and Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora as the nation marks the Independence Day celebration and welcomes the new month of October.
In a goodwill message, Comrade Amuda Tairu congratulated Nigerian workers, particularly teachers, for their dedication, resilience and invaluable contributions to the development of the nation. He described teachers as critical stakeholders in nation-building, noting that the future of Nigeria is largely dependent on the quality of education provided to its younger generation.
The ASUSS Chairman urged teachers in Ondo State to remain committed to their noble profession despite the challenges confronting the education sector. He encouraged them to continue to demonstrate professionalism, patience, discipline and dedication in moulding students who would become responsible leaders and productive citizens.
Comrade Tairu also used the occasion to commend the contributions of past and present leaders, workers and patriotic Nigerians whose sacrifices have sustained the unity and development of the country since independence. He called on Nigerians to continue to promote peace, unity, mutual respect and national consciousness for the progress of the nation.
While celebrating Nigeria’s independence, the ASUSS Chairman expressed optimism that the country would overcome its present challenges and witness greater economic growth, improved security, better welfare for workers and sustainable development across all sectors.
He further called on governments at all levels to continue to prioritise the welfare of teachers and other workers, stressing that improved working conditions, regular payment of entitlements and investment in education would strengthen the nation’s human capital and accelerate development.
Comrade Amuda Tairu Abiola JP prayed that the new month of October would usher in renewed hope, peace, prosperity and greater opportunities for teachers, workers and all Nigerians. He wished the people of Ondo State and Nigerians a Happy New Month and a glorious Independence Day celebration, with prayers for a stronger, more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
