Democrat News Magazine Sets To Celebrate 8th Anniversary with Public Lecture and Roll of Honours in Akure
Preparations have been concluded as Democrat News Magazine is set to celebrate its 8th Anniversary with a grand Public Lecture and Roll of Honours ceremony scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Akure, Ondo State.
The colourful event will take place at the Ijapo Multi-Purpose Event Centre, 1st Gate, Ijapo Estate, Akure, beginning at 2:30 p.m., and is expected to attract distinguished personalities from different walks of life, including government officials, traditional rulers, media practitioners, academics, community leaders, and members of the public.
The anniversary celebration will be chaired by Prince Olusegun Omojuwa, the Chief of Staff to Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, whose leadership and support for developmental initiatives in Ondo State have continued to earn commendation.
A major highlight of the occasion will be a keynote lecture titled, “National Peacebuilding as a Strategic Tool for Development and Democratic Stability in Nigeria.” The lecture is expected to address pressing national issues bordering on peace, unity, democratic growth, and sustainable national development.
According to the organizers, the lecture is designed to provide intellectual engagement and practical solutions toward strengthening democratic institutions and fostering peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.
