Akinwa Vincent Hails God’s Grace, Praises Predecessor’s Leadership as Water Well Drilling Association Deepens Commitment to Community Development
The Chairman of the Association of Water Well Drilling Rig Owners and Practitioners in Ondo State, Mr. Akinwa Vincent, has attributed the steady growth and remarkable achievements of the association to divine grace, dedicated leadership, and the unwavering support of members.
Speaking with journalists in his office on Thursday, March 5, 2025, the association’s helmsman expressed profound gratitude to God and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of his executive team and his predecessor, whose guidance continues to inspire the current administration.
Mr. Vincent particularly paid glowing tribute to the immediate past Chairman of the Ondo State chapter and current Vice President for the South West, Mr. Akoni Najimu Areoye, describing him as a reservoir of wisdom and a pillar of strength whose leadership legacy remains a guiding light.
According to him, the association has continued to draw from the wealth of experience and exemplary leadership style of Areoye, whom he described as a blessing to the organization and its members.
Highlighting the spirit of unity within the association, the chairman commended members for their steadfast support and professionalism, noting that their training, discipline, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in driving the association’s progress.
He stated that the remarkable strides being recorded by the body today are a direct reflection of the collective vision shared by its members who remain dedicated to raising professional standards in the sector.
Mr. Vincent further disclosed that the association has been actively contributing to community development across Ondo State. During its last anniversary celebration, the association embarked on impactful philanthropic projects, including the provision of boreholes valued at over ₦10 million to various communities in the state.
Among the beneficiaries were the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps office in Akure and the Okitipupa community, where the boreholes now serve as vital sources of potable water for residents.
While reflecting on these milestones, the chairman emphasized that the association’s journey of service has only just begun. He assured members of the public that greater and more impactful initiatives are on the horizon, stressing that the organization remains inspired by the exemplary foundation laid by its former leadership.
According to him, the current administration is determined to sustain the momentum and expand the association’s developmental footprint across the state.
Looking ahead, Mr. Vincent revealed plans to procure modern equipment that will enhance the operational capacity of members and improve service delivery.
He explained that the acquisition of such equipment will not only strengthen the association internally but will also ensure that communities receive efficient and high-quality water drilling services.
He further reiterated that members of the association operate with the highest level of professionalism, emphasizing that geophysical surveys are always conducted before drilling activities to guarantee accurate and sustainable water results.
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Vincent called for stronger collaboration between the government, communities, and professional bodies, noting that such partnerships will accelerate efforts to provide safe and potable water for residents while contributing meaningfully to societal development.
