Imafon Rejoices as Governor Aiyedatiwa Approves Long-Awaited 6km Road Project

Oba Adegbehingbe Hails Governor’s Visionary Leadership

The Imafon community and its neighbouring settlements erupted in joy following the recent approval of a 6-kilometre road construction project by the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. The road, which will stretch from the Scab Filling Station to Imafon, marks a significant milestone for the community after years of unfulfilled promises by past administrations.

In a heartfelt statement conveyed on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Adegbehingbe Aliu, the Olu of Imafon, the community expressed deep gratitude for what they described as a “historic breakthrough.” The statement, signed by Barrister Oriola Sesan, Chairman of the Imafon Road Infrastructure Committee, lauded the Governor’s decision as “a testament to purposeful and people-centred governance.”

“The approval of this vital road project is a dream come true for the people of Imafon and adjoining settlements,” Barr. Oriola said. “For many years, we have longed for development that truly touches lives. This road will not only ease transportation but also energize our local economy and improve access for farmers transporting produce to Akure.”

According to the committee, the Imafon axis plays a crucial role in food supply to the state capital, contributing nearly 40 percent of farm produce consumed in Akure. The road is therefore viewed not merely as a community infrastructure project, but a strategic investment in Ondo State’s agricultural and rural development agenda.

The community also extended its appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for Infrastructure, Engr. Olawoye Abiola Ayorinde, for his proactive commitment and follow-through, which ensured that the request received the prompt attention it deserved.

“We sincerely thank Engr. Ayorinde for his responsiveness and dedication. His efforts have reinforced the people’s trust in this administration’s willingness to listen and act,” the statement added.

In his concluding remarks, Oba Adegbehingbe commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for turning a long-standing aspiration into reality and pledged the continued support of the Imafon people.

“This is more than just a road; it is a pathway to progress. The people of Imafon will forever remember this administration for its commitment to our welfare and development,” the monarch declared.
