Excellence on Display: CAC Grammar School Akure Dazzles at 61st Inter-House Sports Competition
CAC Grammar School, Akure, has once again demonstrated its commitment to holistic education as it hosted its 2026 Annual Inter-House Sports Competition in a grand and colorful style, under the purposeful leadership of Dr. Theophilus Toyin Olobayo.
The event, held on Thursday, March 26, within the school premises, drew admiration from students, staff, alumni, and invited guests who witnessed a vibrant showcase of athleticism, discipline, and school spirit. The 61st edition of the competition stood out as a symbol of innovation and renewed vision.
In his address, Dr. Olobayo expressed gratitude to God for the success recorded so far, noting that the school has embraced new developmental strides, including the establishment of a Staff School and structural improvements aimed at enhancing learning and participation.
He further revealed that new houses—White House and Purple House—were introduced to broaden inclusiveness and encourage wider student participation in sporting activities. According to him, the innovation has already begun to yield impressive results.
Interestingly, the newly introduced houses stole the spotlight at the event, delivering outstanding performances that thrilled spectators and underscored the effectiveness of the school’s progressive initiatives.
Dr. Olobayo also highlighted the inclusion of football among the sporting activities, describing it as a strategic move to diversify talents and promote teamwork among students. He reiterated that the school’s vision extends beyond academic excellence to nurturing well-rounded individuals.
Advising the students, the Principal urged them to remain focused and committed to personal growth, encouraging them to continually strive to become better versions of themselves both in academics and extracurricular engagements.
Adding glamour to the occasion, the CAC Staff School was recognized with a trophy for its exceptional performance on the track, while notable dignitaries, including Professor Dayo Folorunso, commended the uniqueness of the event and called on other alumni to emulate the commendable contributions of old students toward the school’s development.
