TAHSIM 2026 Annual Inter-House Sports: A Glorious Celebration of Unity, Excellence and Sportsmanship at The Apostolic High School, Ilara-Mokin
The atmosphere at The Apostolic High School, Ilara-Mokin was electrifying on Thursday, 5th March 2026, as students, alumni, parents, dignitaries, and lovers of sports gathered for the much-anticipated TAHSIM 2026 Annual Inter-House Sports Competition. The event, rich in color, culture, and camaraderie, drew the presence of top education stakeholders, royal fathers, government representatives, spiritual leaders, members of the PTA, the Old Students’ Association, and members of the press. It was not merely a sporting event, but a grand celebration of legacy, leadership, and learning.
In her heartfelt address, the Principal, Mrs. Falilat Folayan, expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty for making the historic day a reality.
With pride and emotion, she described the occasion as a defining moment in the annals of the institution, especially as she stands as the first female old student to lead the school at such a glorious time. She emphasized that sports remain a vital tool for youth development, character building, emotional strength, and social cohesion.
According to her, while academic excellence remains paramount, sports contribute immensely to the holistic development of students — teaching resilience, discipline, teamwork, and the grace to accept both victory and defeat.
Mrs. Folayan paid glowing tribute to the indefatigable Old Students’ Association under the leadership of Dr. Gabriel Olufemi Aladegbaye, National President of TAHSIM-OSA (Worldwide), for their unwavering commitment to the advancement of their alma mater.
She highlighted remarkable infrastructural projects embarked upon by the association, including ongoing solar light installations, provision of modern library furniture, construction of an administrative block, renovation of the school hall by TAHSIMOSA USA Base, and the donation of lockers and chairs. She passionately solicited continued support from stakeholders through financial contributions and sporting equipment donations to further elevate the standard of the school.
Delivering his inspiring speech as Occasion Chairman and White House Patron, Dr. Aladegbaye stirred emotions as he reflected on the historic sports field — a ground where many alumni once nurtured dreams and forged lifelong friendships. He described Inter-House Sports as a celebration of unity, resilience, discipline, and love.
Addressing the students directly, he urged them to compete with integrity, run with confidence, and uphold character above trophies. “Winning without character is failure; losing with dignity is victory,” he declared, drawing thunderous applause from the crowd.
Dr. Aladegbaye further commended the visionary leadership of Mrs. Folayan and applauded the teachers for shaping destinies beyond classroom walls and encouraged fellow alumni, both home and abroad, to continually invest their resources, influence, and commitment into the growth of the institution. Emphasizing unity over rivalry and love over division, he reminded everyone that though they belong to different houses and sets, they remain one family under the proud banner of TAHSIM.
The 2026 Inter-House Sports Competition concluded in an atmosphere of joy, cheers, and renewed unity. Students displayed remarkable athletic prowess, discipline, and sportsmanship, while parents and guests beamed with pride. As chants of “The Apostolic High School! Great Achievers!” echoed across the field, one truth resonated clearly — TAHSIM is not just a school; it is a heritage of excellence, a community of achievers, and a beacon of hope for generations to come.
