From Glory to Greater Glory: RCCG Seed of David Celebrates 15th Anniversary in Grand Style
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Seed of David Parish, young adults & youth church, Akure, joyfully celebrated its 15th year anniversary yesterday in an atmosphere filled with thanksgiving, honour, and heartfelt celebration of God’s faithfulness.
The anniversary service featured the appreciation and decoration of all pastors who had served in the parish over the years, as they were honoured with Meritorious Awards for their labour, sacrifice, and commitment to the growth of the church. The event stood as a powerful reminder that faithful service in God’s vineyard never goes unnoticed.
Delivering the charge to the congregation, the Pastor in Charge of Youth Province 19, Pastor Stephen Dogubo, spoke passionately on the theme of “Latter Glory”, drawing from Haggai 2:7–9. He assured the church that the glory ahead would surely surpass the former, encouraging members to remain steadfast, hopeful, and committed to God’s work.
In his welcome address, the current Pastor in Charge, Pastor Adedokun Adedokun Adeyonu, expressed deep gratitude to God and to everyone who has laboured in the house of God from inception till date. His message, anchored on 1 Thessalonians 5:12–14, emphasized honouring leadership, living in peace, and supporting one another in love. He noted that the church has experienced growth in all ramifications of life—spiritually, numerically, and administratively.
The pastors that had served there are Pastor Ademola Folorunso, Pastor Peter Arijeniwa, Pastor Precious Ajileye, Pastor Oluwafiropo Akinwumi, Pastor Olakunle Oyegunwa and Pastor Ayo Ariyo. Special recognition was also given to Sister Oyinade Adeyonu, wife of the present Pastor, for her sacrificial service, steadfast support, and invaluable contributions to the work of God in the parish.
The celebration was further enriched with moments of joy and community impact as the church empowered over one hundred children with school kits, reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility and youth development.
Founded in October 2010, RCCG Seed of David emerged from the vision of RCCG Ondo Province 1 to strengthen youth ministry and raise a generation of believers equipped for service. From its humble beginnings at Toyin’s Building on Oba Adesida Road, the parish has grown steadily through dedicated leadership, strategic restructuring, and divine favour.
Over the years, the parish has been shepherded by several devoted pastors, each contributing uniquely to its growth—from its pioneer years, through becoming an Area and later a Zonal Headquarters, to its present vibrant status under Youth Province 19.
Now, fifteen years on, RCCG Seed of David stands as a testimony of answered prayers, spiritual growth, soul-winning, and community impact. With renewed strength, increasing attendance, committed workers, and abundant testimonies, the parish looks forward confidently to a future filled with greater grace and glory.
