DEJI REAPPOINTS OLU ADEKUNLE AJANAKU AS ULEFUNTA FESTIVAL CHAIRMAN
The Deji & the Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, CFR has reappointed the Olu of Okelisa Titun, Olu Adekule Ajanaku fsi+, ksm, (DIS-Rtd) as the Ulefunta Festival Chairman for 2026.
This was contained in a letter dated 27th October, 2025 and personally signed by Oba Aladetoyinbo. The Monarch affirm that there is no iota of doubt that Olu Adekunle Ajanaku has performed excellently well having served as the Chairman of the planning committee of the 2022 and 2023 edition of the Ulefunta festival.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Monarch, Oba Aladetoyinbo eulogized the former Chairman and opine that is rest assured that Olu Ajanaku will further bring his wealth of experiences into improving on the achievements and successes recorded during the previous editions of the festivals
Oba Aladetoyinbo urged the new Chairman to see his appointment as another clarion call to serve Akure Kingdom and her people. The Monarch therefore express confidence that Olu Ajanaku has demonstrated enough capacity to take the festival to an enviable heights.
Olu Adekunle Ajanaku, a seasoned administrator and retired Director of DSS had served as the Chairman of the festival during the 2022 and 2023 editions. He also served as the Chairman of the Entertainment and Carnival subcommittee of the 10th Coronation Anniversary of the Deji of Akure.
Olu Adekunle introduced diverse developmental projects and inaugurated some standing committees when he was Chairman in 2023. Some of the innovations and committees includes; the maiden Owa-oropo competitive marathon, Entrepreneurship & Scholarship scheme, Ulefunta Cooperative, Library Project, and Palace upgrading Committee amongst others.
