Wave of Excellence: Mummy’s Place International School and Emplace College Shine Again as Legacy Elite Club Honours Best Student of the Year
Indeed, the wave of excellence and dedication continues to reverberate as accolades pour in—not only for the management and staff of Mummy’s Place International School and Emplace College, Akure, but also for their pupils and students whose outstanding performances have continued to attract national and international recognition.
The schools’ remarkable achievements reaffirm the wisdom behind the Federal Government’s decision to name Mummy’s Place International School the Best Private School in Nigeria in 2022.
Under the visionary leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Damilola Oshin, the glory and excellence of Mummy’s Place International School and Emplace College have continued to shine brightly across the globe. This was further underscored when the Legacy Elite Club International honoured Miss Adebose Damilola of Emplace College, Akure, as the “Best Student of the Year (2025)” for her exceptional performance in the 2025 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examination.
Adebose Damilola, who began her academic journey at Mummy’s Place International School, exemplifies the spirit of excellence the institution instills in its learners from an early age. Equipped with modern teaching and learning facilities of international standards, the schools ensure that their students can stand shoulder to shoulder with their peers across the world—confident and competent.
The grand award presentation took place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Christ Event Hall, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, and was graced by dignitaries, educationists, parents, and members of the Legacy Elite Club who gathered to celebrate hard work and achievement.
In a chat with journalists after receiving her award, Miss Adebose Damilola, beaming with joy, expressed her gratitude to the Club for the recognition and to her alma mater for laying a solid academic foundation that shaped her success.
.“I sincerely thank the Legacy Elite Club for this honour. I’m grateful to my teachers and everyone at Emplace College who believed in me and supported me to reach this point,” she said.
Her mother, Mrs. Bosede Folashade Gloria, also shared an emotional testimony of her daughter’s academic journey. She appreciated the pivotal role played by the school and its proprietress, Dr. (Mrs.) Damilola Oshin, in nurturing her daughter’s talent.
“What we are witnessing today is a product of my daughter’s determination and the immense support provided by Emplace College through a scholarship,” she added.
Speaking at the event, the School Director, Mr. Seyi Akinso-Oshin, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Legacy Elite Club for recognizing Ms. Damilola Adebose as the “Legacy Elite Best Student of the Year.” Ms. Adebose distinguished herself in the WAEC examinations with 8 A1s and 1 B2, an achievement that truly reflects the Club’s commitment to excellence and high standards.
This gesture, he noted, will serve as a great source of motivation for everyone at Emplace College to continue striving for outstanding performance.
He went on to express gratitude to God for enabling the school to nurture students who excel both academically and morally. Mr. Akinso-Oshin further highlighted that Emplace College continues to take pride in its alumni, many of whom have graduated with First Class honours from various universities.
In his remarks, Prince Matthew Adegoke, President of the Legacy Elite Club, reaffirmed the Club’s mission to promote excellence and inspire young people to strive for greatness.
“The Club, which started just a year ago with eight members, has since doubled in size. We will continue to build legacies and celebrate those making positive impacts in our society,” he stated.
Other distinguished Nigerians were also recognized at the event, including Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps; Mr. Akoni Adeniyi Oluyide, Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure; and Mr. Laolu Akindolire, Ondo State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, who was decorated as a Patron of the Club.
The ceremony was enlivened with colorful performances and activities, leaving attendees inspired by a night dedicated to honouring excellence, diligence, and vision.
