You Have Wiped Away Our Tears, Imafon Community Lauds Aiyedatiwa For Approving 6km Road Project

The people of Imafon community and its neighbouring settlements have poured out heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, following the long-awaited approval for the construction of the 6-kilometre road linking Scab Filling Station to Imafon.

The news of the approval, which was received with excitement and jubilation across the community, marks what residents describe as a “historic breakthrough” after years of unfulfilled promises by past administrations.

In a statement issued on behalf of His Royal Majesty, Oba Aliu Adegbehingbe, the Olu of Imafon, by Barr. Oriola Sesan, Chairman of the Imafon Road Infrastructure Committee, the community described the Governor’s decision as “a testament to purposeful and people-centred leadership.”

According to Barr. Oriola, “The approval of this vital road project is a dream come true for the people of Imafon and adjoining settlements. For many years, the community has yearned for this development, which will now ease transportation, open up our local economy, and enhance the movement of farm produce to the capital city.”

He emphasized that the Imafon axis plays a critical role in food supply to Akure, contributing nearly 40 percent of farm produce consumed in the state capital. The road, he said, is therefore not just a community project but “a strategic investment in Ondo State’s agricultural and rural development drive.”

The community also commended the Honourable Commissioner for Infrastructure, Engr. Olawoye Abiola Ayorinde, for his proactive engagement and commitment in ensuring the request received prompt attention from the Governor.

“We sincerely thank Engr. Ayorinde for his diligence and responsiveness. His role in facilitating the approval has further proven the administration’s readiness to listen to the people and act swiftly,” the statement added.

Expressing the collective gratitude of the community, the Olu of Imafon, Oba Adegbehingbe, assured the government of the people’s total support for ongoing development efforts under Governor Ayedatiwa’s leadership.

“The people of Imafon will forever remember this administration for turning our long-standing dream into reality,” the monarch declared.
