World Teachers’ Day 2025: Ondo NUT Chairman, Comrade Ayodele Sam Leke, Celebrates Educators, Applauds Governor Aiyedatiwa’s Commitment to Teachers’ Welfare
As the world marks World Teachers’ Day 2025, a day set aside globally to honour and appreciate educators, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Chairman in Ondo State, Comrade Ayodele Sam Leke, has extended warm felicitations to all teachers across the Sunshine State.

In a press statement released to The Democrat News Magazine on Sunday, October 5, 2025, in Akure, the union leader described teachers as the backbone of societal development and lauded their role in nurturing generations through commitment, patience, and resilience. “Today, we celebrate the pillars of education — our teachers — who despite numerous challenges, continue to ignite the flames of knowledge and hope in our classrooms,” he said.
Comrade Ayodele Sam Leke further commended the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his administration’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of teachers in the state. He noted that the regular payment of salaries and timely promotion of teachers have greatly enhanced morale within the profession, setting Ondo State apart as a beacon of progress in education management. “Governor Aiyedatiwa has not only made promises but has matched them with action, ensuring that our teachers are recognized, rewarded and respected,” he added.
