ANCOPSS President Applauds Ondo Government, Parents for Steadfast Support to Education
…Says Ondo State is Taking Its Rightful Place in Academic Excellence
The President of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ondo State chapter, and Principal of Ijapo High School, Akure, Dr. (Mrs.) Fadekemi Jogbodo, PhD, has expressed profound appreciation to the Ondo State Government and parents for their unwavering support towards the growth and smooth operation of secondary schools across the state.
Dr. Jogbodo gave the commendation during an interview with The Democrat News Magazine in her office on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, lauding the government under the amiable leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for creating an enabling environment for effective teaching and learning.
“Ondo State is truly taking its pride of place in education, thanks to the proactive and supportive efforts of the government,” she remarked.
Highlighting the impact of this support, Dr. Jogbodo noted that teachers across the state have remained committed and diligent, a quality that is now evident in the excellent performance of students in various external examinations.
“We sincerely appreciate the dedication of all our teachers. Their efforts are yielding visible results, and the state’s academic standards continue to rise,” she added.
As schools commence a new academic session, the ANCOPSS president urged parents to play their part by ensuring their children start their day early enough to attend school punctually. She also charged students to embrace resilience and discipline in order to maximize the benefits of their education.
Dr. Jogbodo further praised the state’s free education policy, stating that it has significantly lifted the financial burden off parents. She clarified that schools are only permitted to collect nominal fees for essential projects such as Robotics, Digital Training, and PTA-backed initiatives.
Citing a recent example, she said: “Here at Ijapo High School, we agreed with parents—through the PTA—on the need to build a science laboratory. After reaching a consensus, we sought and received government approval for the initiative. Last year, we also completed a solar inverter project for 24-hour power supply, all through PTA support.”
Dr. Jogbodo concluded by reiterating ANCOPSS’ continued commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of students across Ondo State.
