New Session Begins As Mrs. Olokunlade Applauds Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Educational Strides
As schools across Ondo State buzz back to life, Mrs. Cicila Funke Olokunlade, the Principal of Akure Secondary Commercial School, has expressed deep gratitude to God for the successful completion of the long-term holiday and the seamless resumption of the new academic session.
Speaking with The Democrat News Magazine in her office on Monday, September 15, 2025, Mrs. Olokunlade extended heartfelt appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for providing a conducive and enabling environment where teaching and learning can thrive.
“We are indeed grateful to God for a safe and restful break, and we sincerely thank Mr. Governor for the continued support and innovation in the education sector. The atmosphere is ripe for growth and academic excellence,” she noted.
The seasoned educationist affirmed that all necessary structures and systems have been put in place to ensure an effective take-off of the new academic term. She lauded the government’s innovative education policies, describing them as game-changing initiatives that will “add glamour and value to the entire system.”
In a passionate appeal, Mrs. Olokunlade called on parents, teachers, and students to remain committed and diligent in their respective roles, emphasizing that collaborative effort is essential for securing a brighter future for the younger generation.
She further revealed that under her leadership, student promotion criteria have been elevated, aimed at unlocking potential and inspiring excellence among learners.
