WeNOA Owo LG Launches Grassroots Campaign to Promote National Development

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Owo Local Government Area has launched an intensive grassroots sensitization campaign aimed at promoting civic responsibility and national development.

The campaign officially commenced on September 11, 2025, with strategic advocacy visits to key community stakeholders.

Leading the initiative, the Head of NOA in Owo LG, Mr. Omotayo Ogunjobi, visited the Palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Ademola Oyinbade Olanipekun III, the Oloba of Uso Kingdom, as well as the local market, where he engaged residents on vital national development themes.

During the visits, Mr. Ogunjobi addressed several key issues identified as essential to Nigeria’s growth. These included discouraging harmful withdrawal practices among students, raising awareness about flood prevention and mitigation, promoting public understanding of major government programmes such as the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), encouraging greater participation in the National Identity Project, and fostering respect for national symbols while enhancing national security awareness.

Addressing community members and stakeholders, Mr. Ogunjobi emphasized the importance of civic engagement and called on traditional leaders, market associations, and youth groups to actively support the initiative. He noted that sustained development requires a well-informed and proactive citizenry that understands and embraces national values.

In his response, the Oloba of USO Kingdom, Oba Ademola Oyinbade Olanipekun III commended the federal government for initiating the campaign and expressed strong support for its objectives. He assured the NOA of the traditional council’s readiness to continue guiding and educating the people in alignment with positive national ideals.

The campaign marks a significant step by NOA Owo LG in bringing government policies closer to the grassroots, with a focus on enlightenment, community participation, and national unity. More outreach activities are expected to follow in the coming weeks, as the agency intensifies its efforts to foster a culture of civic responsibility and inclusive development across the local government area.
