Bringing the Message Home: NOA Leads Grassroots Sensitization in Ose LGA
In a bold step toward deepening civic awareness and strengthening national unity, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has extended its Nationwide Sensitization Awareness Campaign to Ose Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, with impactful engagements at the grassroots level.
As part of the agency’s strategic outreach, Mr. Adeniran Funso, the NOA Community Mobilization Officer (COMO) in charge of Ose LGA, paid advocacy visits to key traditional institutions within the area. The campaign focuses on five crucial themes: ending harmful traditional practices, flood mitigation strategies, understanding government policies and programmes, the National Identity Project, and promoting respect for national symbols and security consciousness.
The sensitization tour began at the palace of Oba Adebimpe Osunbo, the Olukaro of Ikaro, where Mr. Funso held meaningful discussions with the monarch and members of his council. The visit highlighted the strategic role traditional rulers play as custodians of culture and pivotal actors in community mobilization and information dissemination.
In a similar vein, the NOA officer also extended the campaign to other traditional rulers in Ifon, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to inclusive national dialogue and grassroots involvement.
The traditional leaders warmly welcomed the initiative, commended the NOA for its proactive approach, and pledged their full support in cascading the vital information to their communities.
This awareness campaign is a core part of the NOA’s broader mandate to promote civic responsibilities, enhance national cohesion, and ensure active citizen participation in the nation-building process—anchored on the trust and influence of local institutions.
