LG Chairman Endorses NOA’s Enlightenment Campaign in Akoko South-East
In a resounding demonstration of leadership and civic commitment, the Executive Chairman of Akoko South-East Local Government Area, Hon. Jude Omoleyin Ayegbo, has officially endorsed the National Orientation Agency’s (NOA) enlightenment campaign centered around five key thematic areas. The endorsement took place during a courtesy visit to his office by the NOA Community Mobilization Officer (COMO) for Akoko South-East, Mr. Mustapha Ojuko, who outlined the thematic pillars of the campaign—value reorientation, security consciousness, anti-corruption, peace building, and national unity. Hon. Ayegbo, in his remarks, commended the initiative as a timely and necessary step toward instilling deeper national values at the grassroots level. He affirmed the local government’s full support and emphasized that the people of Akoko South-East must be sensitized to play active roles in building a better society.
Following the chairman’s endorsement, the NOA team, led by Mr. Ojuko, embarked on a series of advocacy visits across the local government to engage traditional, religious, and civic stakeholders in spreading the campaign’s message. The first stop was the Central Mosque in Epinmi Akoko, where religious leaders were encouraged to integrate themes of national unity, moral rectitude, and peace in their teachings. The team proceeded to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Ayodele Idris Gbiri, the traditional ruler of Epinmi Akoko, who warmly welcomed the campaign and pledged his royal support. The advocacy tour also took the team to Ifira Akoko, where they were graciously received by the Regent, Princess Folasade Osin. She applauded the enlightenment program and stressed the importance of traditional institutions playing a guiding role in shaping the values of the community, especially among the youth.
Further extending the reach of the campaign, the NOA team engaged members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Isua Akoko, encouraging them to be vigilant, law-abiding, and supportive of government efforts toward peace and unity. Mr. Ojuku urged all stakeholders to embrace the campaign with open minds, listen attentively to the messages, and not hesitate to ask questions for better understanding. He noted that the success of the initiative depends largely on the active participation of the people, and called on every resident to see themselves as key players in the mission to restore core values and national pride.
With the visible support of the local government chairman, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civic groups, the NOA enlightenment campaign in Akoko South-East has gained strong momentum. It now stands as a beacon of hope for renewed patriotism, strengthened community ties, and the collective aspiration for a more united and value-driven Nigeria.
