The ancient town of Imafon is set to come alive in vibrant colors, rhythm, and culture as His Royal Majesty, Oba Aliu Samuel Adegbhingbe, Atonlusi I, the revered Olumafon of Imafon, hosts the grand New Yam Festival from Thursday, August 28th to Saturday, August 30th, 2025. The celebrations will commence on Thursday, August 28th, with the ceremonial donation of yams, a timeless expression of thanksgiving to God Almighty. On Friday, August 29th, the air will echo with anticipation as cows are ceremonially slaughtered, marking a communal feast that honors the harvest season. The festival will reach its magnificent climax on Saturday, August 30th, with the New Yam Party and Royal Reception—a grand affair filled with music, cultural displays, feasting, and heartfelt celebration at the Olumafon Palace.
