“You Are Not a Liability” — Hon. Oyinkansola Aroloye To Empower Widows Across Ondo State

In a heartfelt move to support the ongoing women’s empowerment agenda of Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Oyinaroloye Gender Empowerment Initiative has announced a comprehensive training and empowerment program tailored specifically for widows across the state.

The landmark event is scheduled to take place on August 14, 2025, at CITA Hall, Alagbaka, Akure, and will draw participants from all eighteen local government areas of Ondo State.

Speaking on the initiative, the founder of the foundation and Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization, Hon. Oyinkansola Aroloye, emphasized that the program is designed to equip widows with the tools and confidence to rise above societal limitations and reclaim their independence.

“Widows are not a liability to their families or society. They are a vital part of our communities and deserve the resources and respect to thrive,” she stated.

The program will feature skills acquisition training, financial empowerment, capacity-building workshops, and networking opportunities—all aimed at boosting self-reliance and economic resilience among widows.

Hon. Aroloye reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to grassroots development and called on government bodies, NGOs, and private stakeholders to support the initiative, especially as it targets rural empowerment and inclusive growth.

“This is more than charity. It’s about restoring dignity, rebuilding hope, and reshaping lives,” she concluded.
