Double Honours for a Distinguished Son: Akure East LCDA Celebrates Hon. Sunday Ifedayo Abegunde on His 70th Birthday and Asiwaju Title

Sunday Ifedayo Abegunde, fondly known as ABENA, on the joyous celebration of his 70th birthday anniversary, as well as his grand conferment as the Asiwaju of Akure Land.

Abegunde’s contributions to the development of Ondo State and Nigeria at large. Hon. Abegunde has served his people with unwavering dedication, holding numerous key roles including two-term Member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Ondo State Afforestation Project, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Ondo State, and Executive Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). In each role, he has left an indelible mark of excellence and commitment.
His elevation to the highly esteemed position of Asiwaju of Akure is a fitting tribute to his legacy as a visionary leader and bridge-builder—one whose wisdom, experience, and compassion have inspired generations.
