Hope Restored: Akure East LCDA Hails Governor Ayedatiwa for Road Rehabilitation Across Ijigba, Kajola, Oke Uro, and Davog Communities
The Chairman of Akure East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Barrister Kayode Taiwo Samson, LLM, alongside the management team and residents of Oke Uro, Kajola, Ijigba, and Davog communities, has extended heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, for his timely intervention in the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and asphalt surfacing of major access roads within the area. The initiative, which includes the restoration of gorges threatening local connectivity, has sparked renewed hope and gratitude across these underserved communities.
In a statement released by the council, the chairman described the governor’s gesture as a reaffirmation of his “pragmatic and people-centered approach to governance.” The long-neglected road networks, which had become impassable and hazardous, are now undergoing comprehensive rehabilitation—marking a transformative shift for thousands of residents whose daily lives and economic activities had been severely affected by poor infrastructure.
“We are proud of you, Mr. Governor,” Barr. Kayode Taiwo Samson declared. “Your swift response to our call for help and your commitment to development at the grassroots is not just commendable but historic. This intervention is more than roadwork—it is a lifeline to our people, and a testament to your visionary leadership.” He emphasized that the project has not only restored hope to the community but also reaffirmed their belief in Governor Ayedatiwa’s capacity to lead with integrity and foresight.
The roads under rehabilitation—spanning Oke Uro, Kajola, Ijigba, and Davog—serve as crucial arteries for transport, commerce, and social life. For years, the deteriorating conditions of these roads created immense hardship, isolating residents from essential services and opportunities. Now, with the governor’s approval and active implementation of the reconstruction works, the atmosphere is one of relief and renewed faith in the state’s leadership.
In Ijigba, where deep gorges once threatened the safety of commuters, the ongoing engineering works have brought visible change. Community members expressed joy and gratitude, lauding Governor Ayedatiwa for demonstrating what they described as “governance with compassion.” Local youths, elders, and traders alike echoed the same sentiment: that their voices had finally been heard and their suffering acknowledged at the highest level of state leadership.

The LCDA chairman also advised residents within the community to partner the government by keeping their environment safe,clean, should not block access road with building structure and any form of blockage
