Ondo NOA Director Lauds Government on Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer as Governor flags off Disbursement of Debit cards

In a Strong coordinated determination to eradicate poverty in Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, One of the Social Safety Net Intervention Programs of NSIP, the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (RH_CCT) scheme has been flagged off by Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Hon Dr. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa yesterday 13th June 2025 at the Akure South local Govt Secretariat, Akure.
The Ondo State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr James Adekunle, in his goodwill message, commended the initiative, stating that Ondo State remains one of the few states that have fully keyed into the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. Mr Adekunle Praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for his proactive efforts in bringing national programmes to the people of the state. He eulogized the Renewed Hope Agenda which has Poverty Eradication, food security, economic growth and Job Creation as priorities.
The NOA Director enumerated various steps taken by President Tinubu’s administration to ameliorate poverty in the country which include providing the Policy framework and roster map for an aggressive poverty alleviation drive in Nigeria, developing the Renewed Hope Agenda for humanitarian response and poverty alleviation, and expanding the National Social Register to capture poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
At the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa launched the distribution of the Renewed Hope Debit Cards to thousands of beneficiaries as part of the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP), implemented in collaboration with the Ondo State Government through the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) Coordinated by Public and Intergovernmental Relations Office .
Addressing the gathering, the Governor expressed joy and a deep sense of responsibility, noting that the initiative is a bold step towards fulfilling the promise of “Renewed Hope” and improving the lives of the people of Ondo State. Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for sustaining the programme and prioritizing the well-being of ordinary Nigerians.
According to Governor Aiyedatiwa, a total of 16, 255 beneficiaries across all 18 Local Government Areas in the state will receive ₦75, 000 each, disbursed in monthly installments of ₦25, 000 for three months, directly through their debit cards. He said the total amount injected into the scheme is ₦1, 219, 125, 000, providing direct economic support to thousands of households.
The Senior Special Assistant to Mr Governor on Social Investment,Barr Felix Alonge was effusive in his praise for the Governor’s visionary leadership While describing the programme as a reflection of the Governor’s “Our Ease” agenda aimed at making life easier, particularly for women and persons with disabilities. He noted that the office of the Public and Intergovernmental Relations Unit was proud to have played a key role in organizing the flag-off ceremony.
The flag-off ceremony, which was attended by beneficiaries, Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Traditional Rulers, SSA to Mr Gov on Social Investment, SSA to Mr Governor on Youth Empowerment and Job Creation, Permanent Secretary of Multilateral Office, Chairman of Akure South LG, Top Government functionaries and stakeholders, marked the beginning of the disbursement of Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Debit cards to beneficiaries. The program is expected to bring relief to thousands of families in the state.
