Prophet Samson Oluwamodede Urges President Tinubu to Declare 3-Day National Fast to Heal the Nation
-As He Hosts Interdenominational Ministers’ Conference in Akure
Prophet Samson Oluwamodede, the founder and General Overseer of Prayer Centre Church of God Worldwide, has called on the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to declare a three-day national fast and prayer as a powerful solution to address the myriad challenges confronting the nation.
This call was made during an interview with journalists at the conclusion of a two-day Interdenominational Prayer Ministers’ Conference held from March 24th to 25th, 2025, at Font Hall Hotel in Akure, Ondo State.
Prophet Oluwamodede urged the President to rally Nigerians in a collective fast and prayer for forgiveness of sins and divine intervention. “If Mr. President can call on all Nigerians to fast and pray for three consecutive days, asking for God’s forgiveness, we can surely overcome the trials facing us,” he said. “We are blessed with abundant resources—our mineral wealth, like the second-largest bitumen deposit in the world here in Ondo State, offers us the potential for prosperity.”
Explaining the purpose of the conference, Prophet Oluwamodede revealed that it was divinely inspired. He emphasized the need for ministers of God to come together for fresh spiritual renewal. “God instructed me to organize this gathering for power and impartation, just as the apostles were commanded to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit’s empowerment,” he said. He also announced that the conference would be held monthly going forward.
During the conference, Lady Ronke Izogo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to participate, praising the event’s spiritual impact.
Lady Evangelist Izogo described the conference as an “amazing experience,” reflecting on spiritual growth and the potential for unprecedented advancement in the Christian faith.
Prophet Tolu Omosebi and Apostle Tunde Ogunsuyi, Senior Pastor of Elshadi Christian Centre, urged attendees to maintain spiritual fervour and ignite revival across the nation.
The event also featured teachings and impartation from notable men of God, including Apostle Leke Akingboye of Chrisma Impact and others who led prayers for Nigeria and Ondo State.
